I worked on this Miata a bit this morning.  So far, all this work equates to the cam and crank seals being replaced, but atleast pretty much everything from here is on the putting things back together side of the job.  First, lunch.

Ahh doing a timing belt job while you are in there I sure hope! And replacing the radiator, hoses, belts, valve cover gasket, and water pump as well I hope since they all come off anyways. The only annoying part about doing mine was that the VVT blocks the damn alignment tick mark so I was off half a tooth and had to redo the whole job. Even with that, I was done in about 5 hours though so it wasnt bad. I bet it could be done in two hours knowing how to screw it up now lol.

I’m doing this slowly, and I’m a glutton so I’m also doing things like the heater hoses and small coolant hoses to/from the oil cooler. This is my dad’s 61k 2005. I’m not replacing the radiator right now, as the original one is actually still the correct color. At some point the end tanks will become brittle enough and crack at the filler neck like every miata does eventually.

Oh yeah and its easy enough to just do the rad on its own, i just know I would probably do it as PM anyways but I hate taking things off twice lol.
